Therefore, he decided to set up a school, compile his own teaching materials, and spread the culture of the Central Plains. He made friends with the people, vigorously advocated reading, and went door-to-door to motivate parents to send their children to school. In May of the next year, the education in Danzhou presented gratifying changes. From time to time, you could hear the sound of recitation and stringed instruments. After arduous efforts, Su Dongpo trained Jiang Tangzuo, the first successful candidate in the imperial examinations in Hainan, as well as Fuque, a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations.
