<p class="ql-block">喬治·莫蘭 George Morland， 1763年6月26日 – 1804年10月29日，English畫家。早期作品受到Francis Wheatley的影響，十八世紀(jì)九十年代凸現(xiàn)自己的風(fēng)格。 他優(yōu)秀于專注描畫鄉(xiāng)村景色、農(nóng)莊和狩獵、走私、吉普賽人，是Dutch Golden Age的杰出作品。</p> <p class="ql-block">他大部分作品被出版商多次復(fù)制，掙的錢比他的作品都多。他酗酒，但仍然多產(chǎn)，但生活質(zhì)量受到影響。最后由于負(fù)債過重，41歲就去世了。</p> <p class="ql-block">他1763年6月26日生在London。父親Henry Robert Morland, 爺爺 George Henry Morland, Cunningham說他們是 Sir Samuel Morland的后裔。 據(jù)說他三歲就開始畫畫，十歲(1773年) 就成為 Royal Academy知名的辦展人。1775年和1776年在Free Society展出作品， 1777年Society of Artists，1778年、 1779年和1780年在Royal Academy展出作品。</p> <p class="ql-block">他父親讓他臨摹各種形式的畫作，特別是Dutch和 Flemish大師的作品。其中就有Fuseli's Nightmare 和 Reynolds's Garrick between Tragedy and Comedy。他被介紹給Sir Joshua Reynolds, 臨摹他的畫作。</p> <p class="ql-block">1784年他不在他父親那里工作, Romney給他一棟房子，并支付￡300工資，讓他畫三年的畫。但他覺得太受約束，和他父親的關(guān)系破裂，他于1784年或1785年開始獨(dú)立生活，努力工作和酗酒。</p> <p class="ql-block">不久就成為商人的奴隸， "ostlers, potboys, horse jockeys, moneylenders, pawnbrokers, punks, and pugilists" 。 "He was in the very extreme of foppish puppeyism", Hassell陳述; "his head, when ornamented according to his own taste, resembled a snowball, after the model of Tippey Bob, of dramatic memory, to which was attached a short, thick tail, not unlike a painter's brush"。 年輕氣盛的他崛起，偶爾畫畫，還拉小提琴，并跑到 Margate畫畫。 1785年在法國(guó)短期居住，沒得到任何訂單。</p> <p class="ql-block">回到 London后，居住在 Kensal Green, 靠近 William Ward。與Miss Anne Ward (Nancy)于 1786年7月結(jié)婚。兩人住在High Street, Marylebone。</p> <p class="ql-block">他的作品開始出名，包括：大幅畫作 'Children Nutting' (1783年), 和幾幅小幅作品 （ 1785年）： ' Lass of Livingston' 。1786年創(chuàng)作了 'Letitia or Seduction' ，和 'Progress' of Letitia。1786年他創(chuàng)作了The Wreck of the Haswell。</p> <p class="ql-block">他與妻子分居后，搬到 Pleasing Passage to Warrens Lane。在這里創(chuàng)作了 'The Inside of a Stable' ，現(xiàn)珍藏在National Gallery, 1791年在Royal Academy展出。 1793年和1794年他繼續(xù)展出作品。</p> <p class="ql-block">他的藝術(shù)得到贊許，一天就能掙到一周的生活費(fèi)。但他一手拿畫筆，一手拿著酒瓶。</p> <p class="ql-block">從 1788年到 1792年他創(chuàng)作了超過百幅作品。包括： 'A Visit to the Child at Home'和'A Visit to the Boarding School,' 以及 'Children Birdnesting,' 'Juvenile Navigation'、 'The Kite entangled'、 'Blind Man's Buff'和 'Children playing at Soldiers' ，還有 'The Fruits of early Industry and Economy' (1789年)和 'The Effects of Extravagance and Idleness' (1794年)、 'Miseries of Idleness' 和 'Comforts of Industry'， l 'The Slave Trade' (1791年)和'African Hospitality'。五百?gòu)?
